Compliance and Safety

As we continue to expand, safety is a primary concern for our staff. While our facilities do not process the metals, it is crucial that we provide a safe environment for our employees when handling metals accepted.

We take these measures and procedures seriously in the event staff may come in contact with hazardous materials in accordance with Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and Covid-19 in accordance with Center for Disease Control (CDC). Our goal is to continuously update employees with Hazard Communication Standard, and material safety data sheets (MSDS).

A safe environment is critical for our customers as well as retail recycling is a big part of our business. On any given weekend, we see hundreds of people come to our facility with truckloads of recycling materials. Plumbers bring their access copper; contractors bring their access, and individuals will bring the scrap from his or her latest project. The scrap is then put into crates, where it is weighed on the scale, and our customers are then given a pre-programmed receipt to receive payment.

Throughout this exchange, our employees and customers interact around our facility and equipment, and basic safety precautions must be taken to ensure safety for all.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, lays out a framework for the type of environment that we must provide at our facilities. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration delivered a report that looks to give direction and help with recognizing and controlling well-being and risks in salvaged material reusing offices.

The guidance for the Control of Safety and Health Hazards in Metal Scrap Recycling, looks to give salvaged material industry openness to different metals and related hardware used in metal recycling tasks.

Notwithstanding an examination of the various sorts of preparation that happens at salvaged material yards, the report provides handling of various metals and how they need to be managed.
